Bug Description

Hello
Resuming from suspend the xscreensaver login window is proposed, but when I insert the right password it isn't recognized and the login window appear again.
**Following is no more present**
(If i click on new login button, i'm redirected to the first login screen and the password is detected, but immediately after is present again the xscreensaver login window.
If I insert again the same password it isn't recognized, if I click on new login i'm redirected to the first login screen and if I choose reboot or shutdown I'm redirected again to login screen.
No way to have one tty working.)
Only Sysrq to reboot.
Thanks
Fabio

Hello Fabio, may you provide the system logs for this? having the auth.log would be pretty useful, Thanks!.

The same password, with ascii characters, works at startup.

Same bug on my system, it seems that xscreensaver isn't using the systemwide keyboard layout. If i change my password to something with just letters and numbers it works fine.

Is this the same issue as bug #671923, in which it is fixed in 5.15-1?

I got the same problem.
This also seems to affect only certain special characters.
I typed my password differently to see what causes the problem:

^_b7*!:;@ is fine for example
while
^_b7*!:;@ç isn't
but
^_b7*!:;@a work !

So I guess xscreensaver has a problem with combinations of special characters, surely a layout problem.

My laptop is an Asus x72j serie and I'm using a fresh install of Xubuntu 11.10.
I hope it will be fixed soon.
