Bug Description

Ubuntu 12.10
xpdf package version 3.03-9ubuntu5

The xpdf application will start if no PDF file is specified. However, any attempt to load a file into the running app, including specifying a PDF file on the command line causes an immediate core dump with the following output:

20-> xpdf hello.pdf

***** MediaBox = ll:0,0 ur:612,792
***** CropBox = ll:0,0 ur:612,792
***** Rotate = 0

BT
Tf /R5 20
  font: tag=R5 name='Times-Roman' 20
Tm 1 0 0 1 72 700
Tj (Hello world)
Memory fault(coredump)

This is 100% consistent with any PDF input file. This has been going on since the upgrade to Ubuntu 12.10 and has not been affected by any software upgrades over the past 6-8 months at least.
