xpdf segfaults on every single pdf

E.g.

$ xpdf Book_of_CSS3.pdf
***** MediaBox = ll:0,0 ur:1224,792
***** CropBox = ll:630,52.56 ur:1134,718.56
***** Rotate = 0
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

As a workaround, I am still using Oneiric's xpdf.

xpdf version 3.03-9ubuntu5
Ubuntu version 12.10 AMD64

Issue seems present in at least Precise and Quantal. Neither Debian Squeeze nor Wheezy are affected, so this seems an ubuntu-specific issue.

Looks similar, yes.

But 888362 claims to be present in Natty (11.04) while 1084461 says
that Precise (12.04) is affected but the package from Oneiric (11.10)
works.

This may be the same issue, if an Ubuntu patch causing this issue
(Debian is not affected at all) has been removed for Oneiric but has
been reintroduced for Precise.
