Exporting to PDF an edited PDF file only exports the edits (fixed upstream)

I have a PDF file created by a print-to-file option in evince.
I edit it with xournal and insert some images and text.
When I print-to-file or export-to-pdf, the resulting document contains only the added images and text, not the original text.
I reported it upstream (https://sourceforge.net/p/xournal/support-requests/15/)
and maintainers claim that it has been fixed in upstream release 0.4.8.2016.
Please upgrade.
