xournal pdf annotation does not work

Binary package hint: xournal

after some installation of other pdf viewers and similar programs,
xournal does not show pdfs anymore (and these cannot be annotated)

i have reinstalled xournal, but this did not change. i seem to remember that xournal requires some pdf driver, which has been deleted by other programs.
(i thught apt was to resolve such issues)

i run under gutsy tribe 5 (updated)

by the way - could somebody put xournal version 4.0.1 into the gutsy distribution soon - the current version does not work at all (insert point problem)

i found that it needed pdftoppm
i reinstalled this (in package xpdf-utils) with synaptic (and had to remove poppler-utils, which seemed to have caused the conflict?)

but i get now the error message
Unable to start PDF loader pdftoppm.

what is still wrong?

This seems to me a duplicate of bug #137944. Can you try if the provided package of xournal 0.4.1 solves all the issues you reported? If you need x86_64 I can upload to my PPA.
