Downloaded Precise Beta2, prepared an USB drive to boot from, booted.

Went to Displays.
Unchecked "Mirror displays".

BLAM! Both screens blank, system unresponsive (Ctrl-Alt-Backspace does not work, Ctrl-Alt-F1 does not work, only Magic SysRq does).

I was able to log into the system using ssh from another computer.

The system is a Thinkpad T500 laptop with a second monitor.

System is still unresponsive and produces the same symptoms after upgrading using ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa.

Is it the same bug as here?

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/921236

In this case, the original bug should be reopened.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Changed in xorg (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed
