[Feisty Herd 5 alternate cd] Installer hangs while configuring xserver

Binary package hint: debconf

Installation hangs at 6% while configuring xserver-xorg-video-siliconmotion. I copied /var/log/syslog from console with BusyBox to a floppy disk. Here are the last 25 lines (sorry, LANG is german):

I encountered the same problem with Kubuntu's Feisty Fawn alternate cd. Platform is amd64.
If I select guided partitioning with LVM, the installation hangs at 6% with the message "Configuring xserver-xorg-video-tga". Motherboard is an Asus M2NBP-VM CSM (NVIDIA nForce 430B chipset).
