Bug Description
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg
I am using edubuntu. This bug was not present in Dapper but has now appeared on upgrade to Edgy.
With both versions of edubuntu, Xorg correctly detects:
(**) |-->Screen "Default Screen" (0)
(**) | |-->Monitor "GATEWAY EV70"
(**) | |-->Device "Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G200 AGP"
but with Edgy a blank screen results and after a few seconds the monitor drops into power save mode.
It appears from the logs that the main difference in edgy is that DRI is loaded while it is not in dapper.
A workaround I'm currently using is to add XSERVER=vesa to my lts.conf for this thin client. As there is no DRI for vesa, this gives a working (if slightly slow) config.
