2007-02-01 12:15:50 Patrice Vetsel xorg: statusexplanation The xserver-xorg maintainer scripts are responsible for monitor detection. Reassigning. Here with feisty 20070201 on my PC : 05:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV43 [GeForce 6600] (rev a2) and display : BELINEA 10 19 20 - 8 ms plugged in DVI port dexconf create an xorg.conf with : Section "Monitor" Identifier "Generic Monitor" Option "DPMS" HorizSync 28-51 VertRefresh 43-60 EndSection With that parameters i can't access 1200x1024 resolution because of wrong Hor/Vert values. So if i launch control center to change resolution : nothing more than 1024x768 is offered If i add "1200x1024" to the good section on xorg.conf, that tdo nothing too, because of wrong syncs values.
