Binary package hint: xorg
If one were to follow the instructions to get logitech mouses to work in ubuntu dapper or edgy, wacom settings suddenly appear in xorg.conf and lock the user out of X. One must remove all sections of xorg.conf listing wacom tablet, eraser, and cursor. This is quite unsettling, seeing as I don't have any wacom drivers installed when I look at synaptic. This could cause some windows immigrants to become frustrated at seeing a broken X and not being able to correct it.
If you could, please follow this how to, and see if you can replicate this and see if it can be fixed:
