When mouse is plugged in, it should just work

Bug #61284 reported by Thomas Wolfe
Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
xorg (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

Xorg has to be restarted for me at least to get a usb mouse detected. This is mainly a wish, I noticed when I was playing tremulous with my roommate and let him play, he grabbed his mouse and plugged it into my laptop, it did not work and thought it was broken. For the typical user it should just work. Any ideas on how to implement this?

This typically just works for me. Can you please attach your xorg.conf and the output of "dmesg"?

can only attach one file at a time... don't have a mouse right now to plugin so idk if this will help. It did the same with my buddy joes mouse a few months ago. I would have to log out and log back in to get it to work. the attached is dmesg
