Bug Description

I am using OpenChrome drivers for a S3 UniChrome video IGP on my Gateway MX3228 notebook, although I believe I was having the same issue using Vesa drivers. After running dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg for xserver-xorg 7.0.0-0ubuntu45, my mouse cursor would disappear at times when pointing at an element, such as in Firefox, when pointing at a Jpeg file where it would usually show a magnifying glass to resize, and also over the icons in the Firefox Customize Toolbar dialog. It happened at other places as well, such as over flash videos, and other places in the environment.

The fix for me was to add Option "SWCursor" "true" to my Device section of my xorg.config file. Now my cursor works fine all of the time.
