Bug Description
Binary package hint: x11-common
I have 2 graphics cards, an i810 at pci:0:1:0 on the motherboard and a nvidia pci card at pci:1:9:0. The BIOS selects the nvidia.
Using kubuntu dapper-rc install cd, the installer correctly used the nvidia, but on the first boot, xserver-xorg apparently picked the wrong one, and created an xorg.conf based on the i810. So, I got a black screen and had to hard reboot into recovery mode to edit the xorg.conf to show the nvidia card. Then it works fine.
At the end is my xorg.conf, followed by the /var/log/Xorg.0.log for the frozen screen. I'm not really sure where the X configuration is done on the first boot. I notice that the Xorg.0.log shows both cards are picked up on the probe, so why did it pick the wrong one?
Let me know if some other log would be useful.

I filled a similar bug report and I can tell you its not related to multihead support.
99% of the computers you buy retail come with integrated graphics cards. When you install a dedicated gfx card it automatically disables the onboard graphics card. There is no option to disable the onboard gfx because it is already being overrided by the dedicated gfx card installed.
Xorg/ linux still detects that disabled card even though its not functional at all. Other distributions actually get it right. Ubuntu since warty has been getting it wrong ever since, it could be just debian in general.
This not for or about MULTIHEAD support.
