Bug Description

After a lot of testing and false trails I have finally found that the video drivers are not the problem that I am experiencing with a monitor I have.

I have a Sony Trinitron Multiscan G400 monitor that which drivers display as 800x600 resolution.
The monitor is actually able to run at 1880x1440@70Hz maximum manufactures specs. With a prefered resolution of 1600x1200. My testing shows that its Absolute resolution is 1920x1440@60Hz

I believe after testing on a number of video cards of various manufactures that the hardware detection is incorrectly detecting or not detecting this monitor.

Hi joewski,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` and `dmesg`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you're using a custom /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

[This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]
