Bug Description
I have a computer that has onboard video. When a video card is installed it disables the onboard video card making it inactive. When xserver-xorg is installed it detects both my graphics cards but chooses the onboard gfx card driver. Because of that desktop then never loads. I have to manually change the driver setting.

I must change sis to nv or nvidia.

I can confirm this bug. I'm running an eMachines T3990 which has onboard Intel i810 (I think 845, but it doesn't really matter) graphics and I installed a PCI nVidia card and set the BIOS to put the video through the PCI card, but Ubuntu still sets up the driver for the i810 onboard video.
I've reported this bug in SUSE as well: https:/ /bugzilla. novell. com/show_ bug.cgi? id=146518
