Every once in a while after many hours I wittnessed that my mouse only displays weird traces on the monitor. I always resetted X11 to solve. Today I found out another solution. If I kill nautilus with "killall nautilus" on the command line nautilus reloads and the effect is gone when I switch back to X11 with ALT-F7. So I suppose some of the new stuff in nautlius 2.22 messes with the mouse. I now had this effect twice in a row (while writing this report) and every time the killing of nautilus was the solution.
I have to make a correction: I can solve this not through killing nautilus but when switching display lile:
Ctrl+Alt+F2 and again Ctrl+Alt+F7
So this is not nautilus related like I first thought.
