Bug Description

In Ubuntu 18.04, display freezes for ~1-5 seconds at seemingly random intervals. When it resumes, gnome shell's dock flickers as if the problem was caused by it.

Sebastien would https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash#The_Xorg_server catch this? This doesn't seem to be a 'crash'? So how should this be debugged?
