Shell crashes with JS ERROR: TypeError: monitor is null

Bug Description

Periodically when I suspend my computer and resume it I find that my session is gone. The following is logged in the journal after such an event,

Thanks for the bug report.

Please look in /var/crash for .crash files and if found then:
  1. Apply the workaround from bug 994921.
  2. Upload the file by running: ubuntu-bug /var/crash/YOURFILE.crash
  3. Tell us the ID of the newly created bug.

This doesn't create a crash dump for me, and happens without a suspend/resume/restart
