Douglas L. Turnbull, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.
1) Is this something that started to happen after an update? If so, which specifically?
2) Does this issue happen with all DVDs or only certain ones?
3) After the issue happens, are there any crash files in /var/crash?
4) To see if this is already resolved in your release, could you please test http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/daily- live/current/ and advise to the results?
