Bug Description

zesty can't get to the login screen when a Geforce GT210 card is installed

I just get an unclickable dialog "The system is running in low-graphics mode" and stuck.

Although if I VT switch and log in by SSH I find mir-demos all run nicely. So this is just a problem with Xorg/lightdm.

Actually IIRC the exact same error happened last time I plugged in a radeon card too.

Probably blame the nvidia driver used :
(EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (module does not exist, 0)

There is buggy nvidia-375 (at least) from the archive; i'm using nvidia-378 fromm the X ppa, and it works well.

note: reports against nvidia drivers exist on launchpad. What happen with 'nouveau' ?

I'm not using the nvidia driver, I'm testing the built-in open source drivers :)

Asus Zenbook Prime ux32vd laptop. I've got "The system is running low graphics mode" dialog on VT2, and usual lightdm greeting on VT7 after upgrading from 16.10 to 17.04.
