Bug Description

I previously reported a X freeze and screen powering off bug over here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1655803. I had hoped that some of the fixes in newer mesa releases would fix it, but alas I having the same problem on the latest x-staging mesa. After 15-30 minutes of activity (emacs, terminal, chrome) X freezes, the screen turns disco colors, and the screen powers down. My machine is usually completely hung (can't ssh in or ping), but I was able to ssh in a collect a few logs (possible redundant, included below) this last time. Thanks, I hope this helps.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Ubuntu 16.04 (xenial) reached end-of-standard-support on April 29, 2021.

Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported when using a currently supported version of Ubuntu? Please let us know if you do otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.
