On ubuntu 16.04-2, This bug doesn't affect me with nvidia 304.134, but I had other problems with this 304.134 driver, and I tried to use nvidia 304.135 from the ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa.
With the 304.135 installed, I got stuck in the login loop.
Same thing when trying the 331 drivers

Ubuntu 16.10 (yakkety) reached end-of-life on July 20, 2017.
