Touchpad movement doesn't work after suspend

Bug Description

Once or twice a week *after* resume from suspend I can no longer use the touchpad to movethe mouse pointer, mouse clicks are registered though.

Reloading module psmouse works as a workaround.

install evtest, and when it happens next time, switch to a VT and run evtest on the touchpad device to see if the kernel sends events

It seems all events are still correctly recognized by xorg.

After switching back into Gnome session touchpad movement works again. Thus I suspect this to be a Gnome problem.

Ubuntu 16.10 (yakkety) reached end-of-life on July 20, 2017.
