Bug Description

It happens intermittently. Some times after a kernel upgrade it boots fine, but immediately after the screensaver turns on the screen gets black with the backlight on. After a good boot it returns to booting to a black screen.

The system is working while the black screen is on. I am able to log in and shutdown via console (blindly)

I have tried to write dmesg to a file while it is in this mode and I got this:

[ 1835.947242] cfg80211: (5815000 KHz - 5850000 KHz @ 35000 KHz), (N/A, 3301 mBm), (0 s)

This was after a boot failed.
