Bug Description

Unsure what causes this, but noticed a couple of issues recently that cause temporary or persistent GUI lockups. I can usually get to a different TTY to look at whats going on and find log entries like below in the syslog. They often seem to occur in batches. So far most times the UI will return to a functional state eventually (sometimes moments, other times minutes).

Let me know if/what else is needed to diagnose etc.

drm:intel_pipe_config_compare [i915]] *ERROR* mismatch in dpll_hw_state.wrpll (expected 0xb0210614, found 0x00000000)

Sam Martin, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Wily reached EOL on July 2016.
See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

Is this reproducible in a supported release?
