Bug Description
Installing the tested recommended driver and rebooting leaves a black screen. To revert back I have to hard reboot and remove quiet and no splash from grub. From there I had to TTY and sudo purge nvidia* -y to have a bootable system.

as a workaround, downgrade to 361.28 and things should be OK until things get fixed in new LTS. I took NVidia package and compiled it instead of using Ubuntu's deb. Hope it helps ..
