Bug Description

In Synaptic, clicking and dragging the left hand vertical divider to resize the
columns causes the screen to flicker, lose signal and turn off. The computer
stops responding and you have to reset to reboot.

I've tried ctrl+alt+backspace, +F2 etc, no go, the machine is completely locked up.

I'm using Hoary 5.04. Synaptic 0.56. AMD64-k8 kernel, ATI video

synaptic.conf attached.
I can replicate this bug easily, just resize the column window back and forth a
few times and it crashes.

Sorry, I'm still unable to reproduce it on my two i386 systems and a amd64
system of a friend. I dragged the pane from left to right and it worked here
without problems.

I assume the mouse is unresponsive as well?

Hello, it appears it was a problem with my ati drivers, the same thing happened
when i scrolled quickly through a pdf with a lot of images.

I've managed to run the fglrx drivers with no repeat of the problem.

Thanks for your time and assistance.

- new bug report: no video output via DVI through fglrx..

So the problem occurred with the 'ati' driver, but not 'fglrx'?

Thats correct, I havent had a problem since i changed to the fglrx.

My video card is a ATI 9200SE
MB is Aopen AK86-l, AMD64 3200+ 512 Ram

When i use the fglrx driver I have to change to analogue as the DVI connection
gave me a blank screen.
