Bug Description

This bug also exists in Arch linux. It seems that Xorg crashes whenever an arc is drawn. I talked to the main dev of Zyn and he said that its a Xorg bug. I also turned off the knob drawing procedure in the source and the crashes stopped.

This is a relevant patch: http://marc.info/?l=freedesktop-xorg-devel&m=142850468414906&w=3

When I open Zyn, my screen turns black and around 20 seconds later my login screen shows up.

I hope you can fix this problem.

Best Regards,
Umcaruje

Umcaruje, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please confirm if you actually tested the patch noted in http://marc.info/?l=freedesktop-xorg-devel&m=142850468414906&w=3 ?

I did not test the relevant patch, since I don't know how to compile Xorg. I could try using the xorg-edgers ppa to confirm, if that would be ok.

Umcaruje, as long as the xorg-edgers PPA contains the patch, then that would be an acceptable test.
