Bug Description
Intel driver hangs every time KDE uses one of the special system effects. I can reliably reproduce it by pressing "Alt-Tab", for example. The only fix is to reboot the computer.
Kernel version:
$ uname -a
Linux darkstar 3.19.0-15-generic #15-Ubuntu SMP Thu Apr 16 23:32:37 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

[ 47.676181] [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right component if it's not a kernel issue.

And there's a small Y-tiled buffer just before the batch that is being written to.
Mika, Chris: can I do something to remediate it?
Rohan Dhruva, thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect -p xorg 1447919
Please ensure you have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information.
