Bib, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg 1422727

Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information.

As well, given the information from the prior release is already available, testing a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

I can't test with vivid because nvidia-96 is no more supported since precise HWE Stack and also nouveau doesn't work with the nv28m chip, even using gnome-classic no effects.

Bib, did you actually test the vivid environment to see the results?

Revision history for this message
Bib (bybeu) wrote :

I can't because I think live cd/usb do not offer the sleep feature, as well as my CPU not exposing its pae capability prevents booting from a pae required media.

Bib, one may test suspend via a live environment.

Regarding your CPU, there is both a x86 and x64 variant of Vivid.

Bib (bybeu) wrote :

Sorry Cristopher, maybe I mix things that are not related, but when I wanted to upgrade my x86 12.04 to HWE Stack, I had to tweak something to prevent the upgrade process to fail because pae feature not exposed by the CPU. This has nothing to do with x86/x64, but instead to that non-pae distribution in no more available since a long time.

Bib, would the following allow you test the live environment -> https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PAE ?
