Bug Description
Since download of new version of Ubuntu (14.04) in the last week or so, computer is painfully slow, will not display properly, delays commands (i.e. click on something and it can take up to 30 seconds to load), video doesn't stream, applications glitchy and type loads slowly. Mouse won't traverse extended desktop.
Only 17.5 GB of 129 GB hard drive in use, and only a few peripherals. It's like the RAM is all used up with something.
System testing crashed.
Even just moving some files around, with no applications open, it crashed claiming no memory to diagnose and send error report for program called "compiz" (or something like that).
Opened terminal to try to revert to Lucid as per instructions, but won't recognize password.\
Any way I can 'system restore' to the previous version?

m millike, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http:// us.acer. com/ac/ en/US/content/ drivers an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (1.26). If you update to this following https:/ /help.ubuntu. com/community/ BIOSUpdate does it change anything?
If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https:/ /help.ubuntu. com/community/ ReportingBugs# Bug_reporting_ etiquette .
Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report.
Once the BIOS is updated, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status New.
Thank you for your understanding.
