Bug Description
Ubuntu 14.10 has inactive desktop in live desktop enviroment and after installation via"install on harddrive" option in menu.
There's no possibility of right-click on the desktop, Unity Launcher is inactive too and panel does not contain any informations( time, battery, settings etc.). Dash doesn't open and result of trying to start app via icon on launcher is long loading.
Everything works only with nomodeset option in grub.
Around Alpha 1 milestone was everything fine.

Richard Vajdel, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/daily- live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:
apport-collect -p xorg 1355851
Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information.
As well, given the information from the prior release is already available, testing a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.
Thank you for your understanding.
