Session terminates while using some video players

When I open a video with vlc the ubuntu session turn off and back to the login screen

I have the same issue with mplayer.

It seems more like a problem with X.org, per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage#Graphical_Environment
Changing package accordingly.
