Bug Description

Occasional lockups with corruption of screen. 60% of screen corrupted by centered horizontal bar.
calling for restart usually brings correct startup
additionally
Occasionally on start terminal type tty1 type start screen is given calling for login name which disappears after a short time and normal login screen is offered and works.
