Bug Description

In continuation on https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-driver-ati/+bug/510001/

After suspending and then resuming on my iMac, I get a weird distortion of colors that renders the screen unreadable. For an example see http://askubuntu.com/questions/310161/broken-graphics-after-suspend-resume I have had this issue ever since changing from the closed source fglrx driver to the open source driver in 12.04, and it's still present in 13.10.

I've also reported the issue with the xf86-video-ati maintainers, but I haven't been able to solve the problem yet.

My version of package xserver-xorg-video-ati is 1:7.2.0-0ubuntu10

Redge, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

Morten, thank you for your comment. So your hardware and problem may be tracked, could you please file a new report by executing the following in a terminal:
ubuntu-bug xorg

Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information.

For more on this, please see the official Ubuntu documentation:

I've gotten rid of this! I finally managed it by first setting a GPT partition table on my hard disk before installing Ubuntu Gnome.
