Launching 'FTL: Faster Than Light' with r600g driver crashes xorg

Bug Description

When using open source r600g driver on amd64 architecture, trying to launch FTL: Faster Than Light game in Steam completely crashes the xorg server. lightdm then restarts taking you back to the login screen.

FTL: Faster Than Light is part of the current Humble Bundle 9 set of games.

Could you please run the following command once from a terminal by ensuring you have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information:
apport-collect -p xorg 1225681
