Bug Description
Binary package hint: xorg
When installing Feisty on my machine I found that it detects the display configuration wrong which causes distortion to the point of the screen being unviewable (scaling with ctrl+alt +/- can bring it to a still wrong but at least usable setting).
On my hardware (ATI Radeon 9250 + an LG L204WT-BF Widescreen LCD monitor) the setting should be 1680x1050@60 but it is not.

Hi,
to get further infos on what got wrong, you may use :
https:/ /help.ubuntu. com/community/ DebuggingXAutoc onfiguration
the xresprobe part being of importance as it is this tool that is used to get the resolution of the screen
I suspect the bug to be related to https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ casper/ +bug/93996
the casper log of the liveCD may help to know if the two bugs are related or not.
