Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-core

After update to xserver-xorg-core 2:1.2.0-3ubuntu1 two days ago, mergedfb won't work anymore, I just get clone mode on my two monitors. Xinerama still works fine.

I'll attach Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf in a moment. After downgrading to 1.1.1-0ubuntu14 (and xserver-xorg-input-mouse as well), it works again. This is with an ATI Radeon 9700Pro.

If you'll need Xorg.0.log from a working mergedfb session, I'll attach that as well. But to avoid confusion I'll wait for you to request it.

I would like to second this one. I have a MergedFB setup on my older Vaio laptop. After the update, I've reverted to clone mode. Attached are my xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log.

Clone mode is working for you all? I wish, I just get a 100% white screen on the second display when I'm expecting a cloned mode.

Note this is on a powerbook5,2 w/ Radeon 9600.

Any ETA on a fix?

I'll file this upstream. No idea how fast this will be fixed.. but we have roughly six weeks before feisty releases.

Last night's updates fixed my problems with mergedfb, at least. I have a big desktop again. xrandr crashes on login, but i never used it anyway. Thanks to whomever!

Indeed, fixed now :) Must have been something with xserver-xorg-video-ati, maybe?

Thank you for your feedback! Maybe there was some fix in the new ati-driver, or a simple recompile against the new X fixed it. Either way, marking this as fixed.
