Bug Description

When rotating the screen with `xrandr --output $OUTPUT --rotate left` or --output $OUTPUT --rotate right`, in the resulting rotated screen the upper half does not get repainted properly (see attached screenshot - the terminal window should be visible up to the top). Note that '--rotate normal' and '--rotate inverted' work as expected.

It seems that this problem has occured with the most recent update (to 1:7.6+4ubuntu3), but I can't say for sure. Updating to 1:7.6+4ubuntu3.1 in natty-testing doesn't help, in any case.

This is easily confirmable just by running 'xrandr -o left'

I've attached my screen, but it's pretty similar

Unity 3.8.16 (available as a proposed update) solves this problem for me, could someone else confirm?

Yes, I can confirm that in 3.8.16 (from natty-proposed) the issue is gone. Thanks for pointing this out.

Hey st.loeffler,

You filed this bug report against natty, but I see it's still open and
doesn't appear to have much activity recently. So, now that oneiric
is released and stable, this may be a good point for you to upgrade
and re-test if this issue is still present there.

If it's solved in the new release and you think it's worth backporting
the fix, please indicate that. Or if having the fix in the new release
is good enough, feel free to close out the bug (or let us know and we'll
close it.)

If it's not solved, leave the bug report open. I can't promise we'll
get to it (we get way more bugs filed than we can usually get to), but
your testing and feedback can help out if and when we do.

Hey Bryce,

thanks for the reminder. Indeed, the problem is solved in oneiric (w/ latest updates). I marked the bug as "Fix Released", hope that is correct.
