Bug Description
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-core
End of April, after receiving various xserver updates via Ubuntu main repository, my KDE desktop did suddenly display only with a resolution of 1024x768. Before it was running with 1280x1024 (which is the native resolution of my LCD monitor).
In KDE System settings now only 1024x768 and as next higher resolution 1360x768 is available. But not 1280x1024 anymore. Same when calling xrandr directlly from commandline. Though ddcprobe / hwinfo still show 1280x1024 among the available modes.
OS: Kubuntu 10.04 64 Bit
Hardware: Intel DG33TL board with onboard G33 GPU (i915 driver). Samsung Syncmaster 913N TFT connected to VGA port.
As there were no hardware or configuration changes on this computer for months, except the regular Ubuntu updates and as resolution 1280x1024 did work for almost a year on this machine without problems, I'm pretty sure that this is a bug introduced by the recent xserver updates.

iskarion, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/daily- live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications- >Accessories- >Terminal) , as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:
apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE- WITH-BUG- NUMBER
Please note, given you already have done this in a prior release, performing this on a release prior to Trusty would not be helpful.
Thank you for your understanding.
