Bug Description

This problem started somewhat randomly after an update to several packages. I reported a similar bug before, but then it seemed to fix itself. Now it's back to the same trouble again.

I cannot log into skype on any desktop enviroment or stand alone window manager, and I cannot log into kde. I don't know where the problem is coming from. All I know is that in my log it says connection reset by peer for every other application. I get logged out and have to log in again.

Not sure if anyone else knows about this bug, but I have not been able to find any solutions so far.

I have marked this as invalid. After some updates, all qt applications are working, except Skype.

I have posted a bug on the Skype package, which I believe is where the real problem lies. If I try to change my status on skype, the system logs me out.

Have you applied all the updates? the only application still giving me this trouble is skype. I reported a bug on skype's package, but as you would guess, got no replies.

Yes, all updates upto Oct 2 / 2010. Keep in mind this is only happening in Maverick
Lucky Backup, KeepassX, SpeedCrunch, Pencil, Skype, Stellarium. They all crash either on launch or when you hover the mouse on top of them

sorry I have not replied in a while; computer trouble.

Currently with the latest updates I've not been having this problem. Seems to have been QT related.

I still have it, but I think this relates to the bug I put as duplicate. As a difference to the quoted bug, I am not using Xinerama or TwinView, so this description is a better one of the problem I face.
