Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

im trying to use external monitor (samsung p2470HD) with my laptop HP NX7400 - it uses i950 graphic
when i connect external monitor i can use it as a clone of my display, a can sometimes change its resolution to full HD, but sometimes it casues X server to die - it starts blinkg (trying to change resolution) and then i see login screen.
And also when i try to make it work as additional display (left or right to my laptop screen) it act the same - blinkg, and reset of X server all the time. I use krandtray (with uses the internal kde configuration). Bug affects kubuntu 10.04 (upgraded from 9.08).

Jacek_G, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Thank you for your understanding.
