X fails to find savage card after upgrade to xserver-xorg-core 1.0.2-0ubuntu10.3

Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-core

After installing the latest xserver-xorg-core package, X is unable to find my savage card. I had to downgrade to 1.0.2-0ubuntu10 to make it work again. This was on an IBM T22 notebook, I assume this also breaks at least the T20 and T21, and possibly others with savage cards.

I'll add various logs and config files below.

This upgrade breaks on my machine too.
My laptop is a Benq R23, with VIA K8N800A chipset (integrated Unichrome Pro video card), running dapper amd64. I had to downgrade to `xserver-xorg-core_1.0.2-0ubuntu10.1' to get X up.
