Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-core

Hi

This morning we upgarde xserver-xorg-core from 1:1.0.2-0ubuntu10.1 to 1:1.0.2-0ubuntu10.3. With that upgrade it killed detection of the ATI video card which according to lspci is a PCI:1:0:0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV350 [Mobility Radeon 9600 M10] (it's actually a 9700, but correctly detected in xorg.conf).

I tried both the ati as well as fglrx driver but according the xorg.log no valid devices were detected by these drivers.

Downgrading the xserver-xorg-core version immediately fixed this problem, both ati and fglrx work.

This is more serious bug!

Updating xserver-xorg-core breaks the system. Can confirm this on thre systems (2 with different nvidia cards and one with ati)
