Binary package hint: xorg

When I run a command-line application that attempts to determine attribs of the monitor, it reports that it can't determine the attribs.

I forget the name of the app, that was months ago, last time I tried to get this box to work.

Problem is, I don't get a chance anywhere to tell the bloomin thing that I know what the monitor stats are and I can specify them.

Used to be so 'simple' (actually it was a pain, but at least it was doable) by diddling xorg.conf (if memory serves - like I said, months ago).

But I tried, months ago, adding a xorg.conf, or whatever, and the result was nada, nothing, no joy.
