Bug Description

Back when I was using 17.10, I could keep my monitor plugged into the HDMI port of my motherboard (AsRock Z77 Pro4-M) which is set in the BIOS as the primary boot card and I could completely boot my system all the way through to Xorg with everything working fine. Even Steam games worked at performance that assures me that my Nvidia 1060 was being used instead of the GPU built into my motherboard. Then I upgraded to 18.04.

TTY works fine on motherboard GPU, I can see boot log messages but once I reach lightdm starting (I also tried switching to gdm3), nothing appears on the port. When I then plug my monitor into Nvidia GPU, it works though. Even after logging in to my xfce4 session, I still don't have my monitor initialized when plugged into motherboard GPU.

Let me know if you need any more information.
