Bug Description
1. With applications running (Google Chrome, LibreOffice documents, terminal windows, etc.), suspend either manually or as power management setting.
2. On wake up (which takes about 30-40 seconds), desktop shows correctly (transient screen artefacts only) and everything works, but all previously open applications have been forced closed (Office documents requiring recovery, etc.)
I previously had an NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti in this machine on a DVI connection to the screen. Since installing a GTX 750 Ti with a Dell 5K monitor on a Display Port connection, I am seeing this bug.
I have also reported this with ubuntu-bug xorg-server on the advice of Christopher M. Penalver, with whom I was in contact about a previous submission about this (Bug 1533398)
