Bug Description

A few times a week, my cursor just disappears.

It is still there, reacting to mouse events, I can see hover events, clicking works too. But the cursor image just disappears which makes it unusable.

Rebooting is the only solution. Restarting unity doesn't recover it.

It's a little weird that this is an unity fauld, I'd think something more related to lower X11 layers.

LightDM doesn't control the cursor. It's either the X server or Unity.

affects: lightdm (Ubuntu) → xorg-server (Ubuntu)

No idea where the issue is, but it keeps on happening. Yesterday for instance, I had to reboot again. When the system came up, I had a cursor in lightdm, I logged in and the moment unity started, the cursor disappeared and I had logout/login again to get it back.

I have this all the time on one specific laptop. It's a weird hardware issue and only rebooting (or VT switching) will get the cursor up.

Can't remember last time it happened on any other machine but I think it does...
