Fullscreen causes screen blinks

Bug Description

Every fullscreen window program that have screensaver inhibiter option causes black blinks every few seconds, for example SMPlayer. If I turn off screensaver inhibit in SMPlayer screen doesn't blink. But not every fullscreen window program have that option.

xmir is installed. To simulate this behavior run:
dbus-send --type=method_call --dest=org.gnome.ScreenSaver /org/gnome/ScreenSaver org.gnome.ScreenSaver.SimulateUserActivity

Ubuntu 14.10 (utopic) reached end-of-life on July 23, 2015.

I'm setting the status of this bug to 'Incomplete' as it's not seen any activity for some time. If this is still relevant when using a currently maintained release of Ubuntu then please let us know which one(s) otherwise this bug report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.
