Bug Description

I have been using synergy for some time, between a Windows 8.1 machine to control a Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, from today I can use it properly, the mouse icon is stuck in bottom right screen, keyboard works fine, but not the mouse.

Windows Machine is the server and is placed in the right side, Ubuntu 12.04 is the client, and is placed in the left side. I´ve tried uninstalling, rebooting, using different versions of synergy (1.4.10, 1.4.18 and 1.5) all of them present the same bug.

synergy logs show me this information when I move the cursor to the Ubuntu Machine:

DEBUG1: try to leave "ericom-T420" on right
DEBUG1: no neighbor right
DEBUG2: clamp to right of "ericom-T420"
DEBUG2: clamp to bottom of "ericom-T420"
DEBUG2: onMouseMoveSecondary +176,+101
DEBUG2: find neighbor on right of "ericom-T420"
DEBUG2: no neighbor on right of "ericom-T420"
DEBUG1: try to leave "ericom-T420" on right

(ericom-T420 is the Ubuntu Machine)

The correspondng issue on the Synergy project is Issue 4041: <https://github.com/synergy/synergy/issues/4041>

The following workaround (for the server running Windows) described there worked for me:

1. Locate synergys.exe in the Program Files (or Program Files (x86)) directory
2. Open the Properties dialogue box and switch to the Compatibility tab
3. Click the "Change settings for all users" button, and tick "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"
4. Accept the changes and restart the computer

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Changed in xorg-server (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed
